Aberdeen Central Library is 127 years old and huge and beautiful and another Carnegie!
Library staff Margaret Hill, Ruth Taggert, Dallas King and Valerie Johnston joined me up with a very snazzy card and showed me around the fabulous spaces, i say spaces because the library is huge covering several floors and massive rooms. It was great to hear that Aberdeen Reads (their own summer reading challenge) is open to adults with the prompt to read for just six minutes every day. Such a brilliantly simple call to action and something I will insist that I do from now on(presumably once you start reading for six minutes a day you end up reading for much longer.) I borrowed the timeless #TheIronWomanby Ted Hughes.
