“I know they’re for children but they look so interesting.”

Hexham Library was my 55th Library and i have to say it’s been quite a ride, a tiring exhausting, fascinating, inspiring, life-affirming ride thus far. On entering the space I was lured into an accompanying gallery celebrating childrens books illustrations called – ‘Inspired by… Children’ featuring designs from the @theatrehullabaloo adaption of #TheNightPirates by #DeborahAllbrightand #peterharris alongside children’s drawings and an invitation to draw on (some) of the walls. A selection of picture books lay in the room and a lady perused them and called out to me quite unexpectedly “I know they’re for children but they look so interesting.” She was flicking through #tomiungerers brilliant #MoonMan a picture book I recently added to my picture book collection and love.
I headed into the library and was met by Librarians Fiona & Sue who have also been following the #LibraryMarathon and gave me my new childrens library card with which I borrowed @peter_bunzl’s latest in the super cogheart series #SkyCircuswhich I’m super excited to read.
