York Explore and Archives Centre, York

“You hear noises and things!”

Apparently there have been reports of a ghost at York Explore and Archives Centre. Having visited many libraries in old buildings I have been surprised at the lack of ghost stories, well York has proved top trumps with a tale of a monk being spied in the upstairs archive room! The observer was so surprised by what he saw (a figure in a room ablaze!) that he returned on the same day each year in the hope of the vision of a spectral spectacle reappearing. The building is beautiful and despite talk of ghosts it is a bright, welcoming and frankly beautiful library being one of Carnegie’s first (the library had its 90th birthday last year.) The library has a tonne of brilliant events so people of York make sure you get down to check out all the super things on offer. I had to borrow one of @a.f.harroldFizzlebert Stump books having so loved the first book in the series I can’t wait to read another Fizzlebert adventure. ———————————-
A massive thanks to Holly, Andy and Wendy for joining me up, giving me the tour and of course the ghost stories!
